TALENT INCUBATOR PROGRAM
The incubator program is a Diversity & Inclusion talent development program for young people aged 16/17+ with a passion for denim and possibly already a fashion background (particularly MBO level) who do not fit into the system, fall through the system or in addition to school or want to develop additional skills at work.
It is a holistic approach to develop both their professional skills (design/development/buying/branding/entrepreneurship, meeting the industry, CV, portfolio training) and their personal skills (1:1 coaching, workshops, master classes, mental health sessions) in the field of fashion/denim, sustainability, circularity, innovation and craftsmanship and to give them the tools and network to become creative professionals and full-fledged/authentic people and thus have more opportunities on the labor market.
The talents are guided by professionals from the denim/fashion industry, are allowed to work every day at Denim City and use all facilities, materials, network and knowledge available.
Everything we do is tailor-made, daily guidance from Master Tailor to become the best tailor/designer, from our Wash Master to work in our sustainable laundry lab & also 1:1 coaching on a personal & professional level.
Location: our purpose-driven denim innovation campus Denim City in the Hallen of Amsterdam with a store, atelier/workshop, sustainable lab, showroom, archive and a classroom for the Jean School International course.
The program concerns 35 talents with diverse backgrounds in terms of gender, sexuality, religion, etc. + a large group of young people who follow parts of the program.
Duration: one year of guidance with the option to stay longer and use the facilities. This is the beginning of a community, a new kind of guild structure.
Funding: is partly by the PVH foundation but not sufficient to expand the program for more young people / possibly other target groups and to make it more sustainable.
